Academic Council of Mansoura National University Reviews Student Affairs and Institutional Development Initiatives
The Academic Council of Mansoura National University held its 29th meeting on 25 May 2026 under the chairmanship of Professor Mohamed Abdel Azim, President of the University, to discuss a number of academic and administrative matters as part of the university’s preparations for the upcoming academic year and its ongoing institutional development efforts.
At the outset of the meeting, the Council extended its sincere condolences to the family of the student Karim Walid Helmy Hashish, praying that he may rest in peace.
The Council reviewed the work of examination control review committees, invigilation procedures, and the assessment of administrative systems across the university’s faculties, with the aim of ensuring accuracy, discipline, and efficiency in both academic and administrative operations.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the launch of early admission applications, in addition to the announcement of new academic vacancies for faculty members and teaching assistants across various disciplines, in support of the university’s expansion plans for the new academic year.
Discussions further covered scholarship programs, student complaints, and mechanisms for ensuring prompt response and follow-up procedures to enhance the quality of educational services provided to students.
The Council was also briefed on the university logo design competition, which received more than 400 artistic submissions. A specialized committee chaired by Professor Mohamed Helal, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, has been formed to evaluate the submissions and select the best designs.
In addition, the Council discussed amendments to the Student Code of Ethics and reviewed the “Specialization Day” initiative, which aims to host public figures and distinguished community leaders on a weekly basis to enhance students’ cultural awareness.
The meeting further addressed the university’s plan for appointing teaching assistants for a three-year period, with the objective of supporting educational stability and strengthening academic staff development.
The Council also reviewed the establishment of several research, service, and innovation-support centers, units, and offices, including the Center of Research Excellence, the Office of International Relations and International Students, the Innovation Park for Supporting Innovators, the Center for Administrative Excellence and Creativity, the Center for Sustainability and Green Technology, and the International Rankings Office, in addition to the roles of the university’s Digital Transformation Coordinator and Student Activities Coordinator.
During the meeting, Professor Mohamed Abdel Azim reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing its academic, administrative, and research sectors in ways that strengthen the university’s standing and support its vision of delivering modern higher education aligned with national development priorities and labor market demands.
