Professor Mohamed Abdel Azim, President of Mansoura National University, held a meeting with the university’s healthcare officials to discuss mechanisms for enhancing the medical care system and healthcare services provided on campus, in line with the latest approaches to integrated healthcare delivery.
During the meeting, the University President discussed ways to improve medication dispensing procedures for both chronic and acute conditions, with the aim of ensuring efficient and timely healthcare services for students and members of the university community. He also emphasized the importance of continuously enhancing the quality and efficiency of healthcare services across the campus.
The meeting further reviewed plans for establishing and activating a smart pharmacy system within the university, equipped with advanced facilities and technologies to provide essential medications for students, faculty members, and staff. The proposed pharmacy will be connected to a comprehensive electronic system for managing medication dispensing and pharmaceutical records.
The proposed healthcare system also includes the creation of a digital health wallet for each student, enabling the electronic recording of prescriptions and medications to support accurate health monitoring and record management. In addition, the system will provide smart healthcare services, including medication reminders and the option of medication delivery through an integrated digital platform.
Professor Mohamed Abdel Azim emphasized that these initiatives form part of the university’s broader strategy to advance digital transformation in healthcare services and create a safe and supportive environment that promotes both students’ academic success and well-being.
He also highlighted the importance of involving students from the Faculty of Pharmacy in the development of this system through their graduation projects, providing them with valuable hands-on learning opportunities that enhance their professional skills, prepare them for the labor market, and strengthen the practical component of the university’s academic programs.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the university’s commitment to the continuous development of healthcare services in pursuit of the highest standards of healthcare quality and service excellence for all members of the university community
